The workshop has not only stood the test of time but has also played a pivotal role in the region\u2019s employment landscape as the third largest employer in and around Ostr\u00f3da. The event brought together key figures, including the CEO of GATX Rail Europe and the Mayor of Ostr\u00f3da, to commemorate this historic milestone.<br\/>  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Legacy of Railcar Service Excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ostr\u00f3da, a picturesque town in northern Poland, has been home of the railcar workshop for over a century and a half. The facility has been a cornerstone of the community, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the growth of the railcar industry in the region. Johann Feindert, CEO of GATX Rail Europe, proudly stated, \u201cOstr\u00f3da is our largest in-house workshop for maintenance and it is the shop where we assemble and adapt special edition tank railcars with precision and expertise.\u201d Over the years, the workshop has continued to expand and evolve, meeting the demands of an ever-changing railcar market. The celebration not only marks the workshop\u2019s rich history but also acknowledges its vital role in the company\u2019s success.    <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Celebrating 150 years of Railcar Service Exellence in WSO in Ostr\u00f3da, Poland\" width=\"1220\" height=\"686\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YKIRNpLPyhQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Grand Celebration with the Mayor<br\/><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The celebration kicked off at the workshop. Visitors had the opportunity to venture safely inside the halls to witness the heart of the operation and to discover an array of different railcar types in front of the workshop. Invitees included all WSO staff, their friends and family as well as the Mayor of Ostr\u00f3da. The GATX Rail Europe Executive Team was also in attendance. After the visit, the guests were transported to a picnic location to celebrate together with food, drinks, and entertainment for the families.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Zbigniew Michalak, Mayor of Ostr\u00f3da, underlined the local importance of the workshop. \u201cThe WSO workshop is a place that brings generations together \u2013 my grandfather worked here as well and so have many families for generations, making it the oldest and third largest employer of the greater Ostr\u00f3da area,\u201d he said.<br\/> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Johann Feindert addressed the crowd, saying, \u201cThis workshop is not just a place of work; it\u2019s a symbol of our commitment to Ostr\u00f3da and to railcar service excellence. It\u2019s a testament to the dedication of our team here.\u201d<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">S\u0142awomir Garwacki, Managing Director of the Ostr\u00f3da Workshop, also shared his enthusiasm for the workshop\u2019s contributions to the community. \u201cWe employ more than 350 people in our workshop and are very involved in the community with outreach programs to welcome even more new colleagues in the future,\u201d he said.<br\/> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Looking to the Future<br\/><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">This winter, the workshop teams will also be celebrating the assembly of the 1,000th multi-purpose champion LPG railcar at the workshop.
